Judgment Affirmed

On March 29, 2024, Cara O’Brien and Avalon Brandt, attorneys at O’Brien Law, secured justice for their client when the Appellate Court of Maryland upheld the Circuit Court of Baltimore City’s judgment, affirming a judgment of $400,000 for their client. This case arose from a preventable incident where their client, walking the sidewalks of Baltimore, Maryland, tripped over defective pavers, resulting in a shattered elbow and requiring five surgeries. The jury awarded their client $344,625.24 in economic damages for past medical expenses and $355,374.76 in non-economic damages for pain and suffering for a total of $700,000, which was reduced to $400,000 under the Local Government Tort Claims Act.

This success stands as a testament to the dedication of Cara O’Brien, Avalon Brandt, and the entire legal team at O’Brien Law. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our client, the deserving recipient of this long-awaited justice.
